Gordon to start printing money?
I've read a worrying report in this evening's Evening Standard, in which Alistair Darling, Gordon Brown and Bank of England governor Mervyn King are "considering whether to embark on a new policy of expanding the money supply, or quantitative easing". Or in laymans terms they are going to print more money!
That fact that they are even considering this shows that they now know that their plans "for saving the world" are not working, and if the Bank of England cut interest rates to a point where they no longer become an economical tool, this drastic and unprecented step will have to be taken.
How can anyone now believe this government are the answer to this crisis is a mystery. Thankfully that number is diminishing, as the public realise just how badly this economy is being run, and how their rescue plan is causing more pain for us all.
