Today my policy will be....

In the latest of a string of "we must look like we're doing something" policies to announced by the government is that of writing to parents of obese children, telling them that there children are obese.

What a complete waste of time. Basically one of two will be the result, either the parent doesn't give a damn, which has allowed the children to get that big in the first place, or the parent is blind and hadn't noticed. The whole idea really is a knee-jerk policy, bereft of forethought or common sense.

The thing is, as other bloggers have pointed out, big kids often have big parents, so if the parent stuffs their face with junk food the kids will do the same. So if the parent doesn't care about their own body, what makes you think that they will be bothered about their children's.

And Labour reckons that society isn't broken.
