Casino Announcement due
Right, enough about baked beans (see previous post), and back to having a dig at my local council. Which, thanks to the Home Office coming out with what feels like a scandal a day, i've been neglecting to highlight their foul ups.
But tomorrow, yet again, my borough will be thrust into the national spotlight with the announcement due for the "Super-Casino" licence.
Now i've already voiced my objection to the casino, based on the handling of the whole issue. With both the national and local Labour parties being "accused of" surpressing information, faking reports, visit's by the DPM to the MD ranch, and so on.
However, reports suggest that Blackpool is now the front runner, following the recommendation of a government think-tank. Presumeably they were trying to even up the score that the DPM had given to AEG.
But, in what appears to be an amazing coincidence, AEG are due to give full presentation to Greenwich Council this Wednesday (31st). Now far be it for me to predict the result, but something tells me that AEG have been given the green light, or why the sudden announcement of a presentation to the council. Plus, what an opportunity for the media hungry Leader of the Council to get on to the national news with details of the presentation, and an I won it for Greenwich statement.
Although, if Blackpool win (and I hope they do) there may well be a quick re-write of the presentation.
